Woodmen of the World Dedicates Flag to Mission

As a faith based ministry, Mobile Rescue Mission, a ministry of Waterfront Rescue Mission, has a deep appreciation for the Religious Freedom our founding fathers and this great country afford us. Therefore, it is altogether fitting that we observe Flag Day with special ceremonies, at the same time, at five separate locations of Waterfront Rescue Mission — the Rescue Missions in Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola, Mobile, New Hope Home in Gulf Breeze, and the Career Development Center in Pensacola.

Military veterans account for 23 percent of the nation’s homeless population, according to the National Coalition for the Homeless. At the Mission, Veterans have accounted for as much as 30 percent of those we serve.

On Sunday, June 14th, during the Flag Day ceremonies, we pause as Patriots to honor the flag in celebration of this great country, and to recognize the service provided to ensure and protect the freedoms we enjoy.

Special thanks to Woodmen of the World in providing several of the flagpoles and all the new American flags we will raise on Sunday and everyday thereafter.

May God continue to bless America!
