The trusted leader in homeless Rescue and Recovery services since 1949

Why should you give to Waterfront Rescue Mission in Mobile, Ala.

For nearly 70 years, Waterfront Rescue Mission has significantly impacted the lives of many on the Gulf Coast; serving Mobile and Baldwin Counties’ homeless populations. We provide an important safety net for people whose lives have been devastated by homelessness and addiction.

The Mission’s Mobile Campus is an accredited charity with the Better Business Bureau and the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. Every dollar is stretched for maximum benefit. In fact, a full 80% of dollar taken into the Mission is used to support program services, including the Mission’s Recovery Programs, the only such local programs offered at no cost to those who enroll.

The reason we’re able to do these things is because of you, our generous Mobile community.  If you would like to offer help and hope to those less fortunate, there are many ways you can support our Mobile ministry. We will connect your donations of money, items and goods, as well as your time, talents, professional skills and prayers with the individuals and families who need them most.

Take a look below and learn about all the ways you and your group, church or business can help the hungry, homeless and addicted in Mobile, Alabama. If you would like to volunteer, please visit our Volunteer page.

Legacy Giving

Do Something for Tomorrow Today

Planned giving is a way donors can provide a future gift from their estate to Mobile Rescue Mission. Planned giving is not meant to replace, but rather to complement the donor’s current giving plan to the Mission.

You can specify a portion of your assets to go to Mobile Rescue Mission. This arrangement may be changed any time you choose. You may also direct your gift or support towards a particular Mission program or shelter.

Many planned gifts can be beneficial to the donor. During your lifetime you can receive tax benefits by investing in specific instruments, such as pooled income funds, gift annuities, and various trusts. Often these incomes exceed the donor’s investment in saving accounts, certificates of deposit, etc.

A planned gift today can help the Mission continue to meet the needs of the less fortunate and carry out our vision for years to come.

There are many options for legacy giving for you to consider:

  • Bequest of a residence
  • Specific bequest
  • Designation of beneficiary of life insurance policies
  • Designation of beneficiary of pension/retirement plan
  • Gift of real estate
  • Gift from a trust fund or annuity
  • Contingent bequest
  • Appreciated securities

Gifts in any of these forms can be made in memory of or in honor of a loved one. For advice or assistance in specific cases, please consult your attorney or professional advisor.

Call Angie Ishee at 888-853-8655 to learn more about how your planned gifts can impact the ministry of Mobile Rescue Mission.
